Use these instructions to help you locate the MAC Address of your mobile phone or tablet device on the Google Android operating system. This will help you to identify the devices shown on your account in the VostroNet Portal. These instructions have been based on a Samsung Galaxy S5 on the Android Marshmallow operating system.

The MAC Address is a unique identifier for the networking hardware on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. You may need to know the MAC address in order to connect to certain wireless networks or for troubleshooting purposes. Luckily, you can locate this information right from within the Android OS.

Similar instructions would apply for other devices eg Samsung, HTC, Nexus, Huawei, ZTE, Sony and others. Open the Apps menu or launcher Select the Settings app Under the System heading, select About Device Select Status, to show your device information Scroll down to see the Wi-Fi MAC Address.

Welcome to the Samsung forum on CNET! Samsung worked with CNET to create a forum where people can ask questions and talk about all Samsung products and get help with everything from HDTVs, Smart TVs, home theater components, phones, cameras to monitors and printers. This forum is staffed by Samsung employees, but as we have seen in the past, often the most helpful answers come from CNET forum members themselves so please don't consider this just a Q and A with Samsung. This is a CNET forum and Samsung is here to be part of the conversation.

OK, I got it now. Now sure why Samsung keeps changing setup like that.

If your TV does not have a sticker on the back (or on the side) displaying its MAC address, there is still one thing you can try. Remote desktop connection app commands. I assume you're using some sort of router to connect to the Internet. If not, borrow one. Connect one computer and the TV to the router.

Go into Router Setup and look for devices connected to the router. Depending on the brand, this could be under Status / Local Network / DHCP Table or Attached Devices, etc. You should see the connected devices, their IPs and MAC addresses.

There is another way to look up MAC addresses via a DLNA server, but you'd still need a router for that. That's all I can think of right now. Hopefully someone will reply with 'Hit the Info button when you're on so-and-so screen' or something simpler.:) _jr_.
